Why the long halt?

Why the long halt?I have to assume that the way I am being deprived of access to my Exeblock investment through the trading halt (now over 6 months) is legal but is it conscionable?  Could this be a deliberate freeze of the stock price ahead of taking the company private? Can a company even go private under a trading halt?
