Hey also asked a good question 2 hours after..if the author could say reasons if unsuccessful ...reply: once the siesmic is genuine in 2-D even it is a very difficult proposition to identify why the possibility of a negative result could exist given proximity to mature source rock, reservoir potential,sealing laterally n above target zones and proximity to first class discovery however it's 6.5 km deep and there is no 100% guarantee of success for any such exploration ..
