RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Deal to close around Feb 17!

RE:RE:RE:RE:RE:Deal to close around Feb 17!You are correct bcsc ... I was referring to the info which was shared with unitholders at the time of announcing the Arrangement ... specifically that on the closing date (now set at 17 Feb.) each unitholder will be paid $23.50 as settlement .... BUT ... of that $23.50 approx. $2.10 (according to their estimate at that time) will be a distribution of Other Income (not Dividend, not Return of Capital, not Capital Gains). The balance of $21.40 will be received as cash and will be used to determine any Capital Gain (by subtracting the unit ACB - which itself will have to be adjusted for Return of Capital in the 2022 distribution total if any).

Since my marginal tax rate is ca. 50%, I estimated that holding my units until market close on Friday would be equivalent to selling early for $22.80. So I sold today for $23.20 ... instead of risking holding on any longer.

So $178,633.05 net disposition less $63,741.51 ACB (to be reduced further by 2022 ACB) = a tidy amount of CG for 2023. Will sell a couple of underperformers to partially offset by year end.

Cheers to all! It's been nice knowin ya!
