I hold thist Stock since Sandspring Resources.

10 years. No trading (what was wrong).Even the inflation is higher. The most worse investment i ever did.

sandspring was a company with no earnings and only burning cash. that is your own fault for buying a company that was not making a profit. if a company is losing money then their shareholders have a good chance of losing money too.

gcm on the other hand has positive earnings and segovia is generating a lot of cash. i bought gcm when it was $1.50. it had peaks of $8 and above $6. this stock has large peaks and troughs following the gold price. right now it is closer to trough than peak, like other gold miners. the equity/assets of gcm continue to grow despite the large swings in share price. share price tend to follow equity ...more

if you want suggestion of something else to buy so gcm won't give you pain and angst anymore, in my opinion sgi and nkl is cheap right now. nkl is dependent on performance of nickel price. other people may have other suggestions. now is the time to pump your other holdings :-)

Don't worry man, the rainbow is there, just over the next hill.  You just gotta close your eyes and become a true believer! Now lets all close our eyes and sign together: "Sommmmeeewhereeee over the rainbow... whereeeee dreaeammmms lie.... that's wheerreeee ovvverrr the rainnnbooooowwww GCM will flyyyyyy" Good luck IMO this stock is a total turd, I call it Gran Clown ...more

I got a chuckle out of the way you did the whole dream scene. I'd say about 98% of miners miss guidance and dilute the hell ouf of their stocks.  GCM has a track record of doing that but past misses don't mean the future will be the same drill.  I find opportunities in those miners that have finally gotten their act together.  Soma Gold is one and I believe New Aris is ...more

The next dilution is in 4 weeks . 39 mil shares . 3 weeks ago , nobody had imagined such dil . 3 y ago we had x3.5  less shares .  So please , in spite of your euphoria , do not tell us  there will be no new dil  to come before long time .  Tell us rather if the road at toro is ready .  And please , keep in mind the last company run by the famous neil woodyer is.. ...more

There's poor value dilution and good value dilution.  Poor value dilution is where a miner is selling equity to fund operations because they don't have earnings to cover expenses. The Aris acquistion brings tremendous value and synergies to the GCM shareholders.  The beauty of it is that GCM already owned 44% of Aris.  The combined company has tremendous resources in the ...more

I like the acquistion however I am not happy that dividend is eliminated.   They were the ones saying monthly dividend can attract dividend investors.... keep flip flopping...  I have quite a bit of GCM shares and this dividend income is helping me quite a bit. I understand why some people don't like dividend but I think cash in my hand = they have ability to generate ...more

in addition, I don't think dividend will cost them that much even with more shares?  like $1.5-2M/month? they rather spend many many millions on investments/expanding than paying little cash flows to shareholders..  plus share price has been not doing well   it is difficult to become a shareholder
Comment by TorontoJayH on Aug 19, 2022 5:51pm
I bought more shares at $5,$4,$3ish because I thought at least GCM has great cash flows to afford great dividends..  If share price performing much better than peers I wouldn't care if they cut dividends. Now I feel stuck, not sure where Gold price will go and if more investments/surprises are coming.

Jay, most of us here do appreciate the dividend, it compensates us for holding shares that are otherwise whipped by the marketplace as a red-headed stepchild. Maybe management doesn't understand what I learned early in finance school:  dividends are the end game and sole purpose for the existence of any corporation!! Ending the dividend = poor optics.  Considering that Colombia ...more

With that kind of cash flows.. if not paying dividends, why can't they just keep buying back their shares so SP can reflect the fair value? then expand? They bought some shares then more dilution.. bought some share then more dilution.. keeps on going.. GCM management keeps rolling their dices until they go big or go broke. Are all mining companies doing the same things? I know that is ...more

Tobi,  You are recitating the prospectus for the merger .  You should observe what's behind the scene .  A) the assets  1) segovia ..(what was the cash cow , by which everything has been possible , feeding everything apetite , mal investment , divi etc..)  The colombian manager Paredes ( there for the last 15 y) is stepping down within few weeks. Who to replace him ? ...more

good points , but not all is bad here ...  -age of management yes.. but thes 2 oold guys are not the only ones in the team .. the team is much stronger -without dividend much more cash from Segovia will be added to the cashbalance -Toroparu is a go ..eartworks and camo , southern road construction underway ... -Marmato .. there are developements there.. they are still in optimation-mode ...more

the 2000 tonnes/day expansion at segovia is done now and Segovia will deliver good cashflow in H2 ... ..without new deals and aquisitions this cashflow will derisk the construction of Marmato and Toroparu significantly ...    in the event the 2 new mines are online the Company will earn enormous amouts of money and financing of Soto (50% of it) should be no problem ... remember Soto once ...more

Brioche, have you sold all your gcm shares yet or are you still pretending to be a shareholder while continuously bashing your own holding? 1) you think toro is a mal investment? with 10 million oz gold, a very long life, tier 1 like deposit that most gold miners would love to have. paredes is the ceo of gcm, the same bad management Brioche has been bashing for so long, but now he says the ...more

"lassonde ..i talked pierre lassonde curb" when you just give a person's name, you can't expect people to know what you are talking about. lassonde is most well known for founding fnv. if you just say the word einstein people will think of his equation e=mc^2 and his theory on relativity, not his letter to fd roosevelt. if you mean curve then you have to say curve.
