True. Guests on BNN were ringing alarm bells over the headlines, but then sensationalizing is a part of their objective. This was likely the goal of the Liberals.

Capital Gains of more than $250,000 in a year will be effected is my understanding.

RE:Troubling Budget Headlines

The changes will affect a tiny minority of wealthy individuals and companies. Doesn't seem to be much to worry about.

DGS unit nav to April 16 = approx: $15.66

Spreadsheet now showing a loss of around 22 cents. Hard to get  a read on how much BDIV went down, as it was mostly red.  But best guess here is the Commons have a value of $5.66 herre.

RE:Started shorting..

I sold and took my capital gain last week. Spits are a funny animal! It's hard to tell how things will shake out.

Started shorting..

Continued mkt weakness has reduced NAV ( but not much).   However, yesterday stock was 40c over NAV so i couldnt resist shorting it ( avg $6.02).

Brompton NAV update April 11: $15.88

With the closing price being $6.15, the premium stands at $0.33 after accounting for the accrued dividends on the preferred shares.

What holdings are in and which ones are out?

Brompton reports UNIT NAV @ $15.80

So lost 5 cents the past week. Since the update yesterday the UNIT NAV has gained 14 cents.  UNIT NAV now would be $15.94

RE:Looks solid for another distribution

Looks like it slipped a bit from last reporting however banks are on fire again today. Investors seem very reluctant to bid this up at least for now.  BK is having no such  issues.
