Are you so stupid you didn't even know the dividend was paid in US$ ???

Can I get more info on this... I have never heard about this myself.

I thought if you hold it under the TSX ticker as a Canadian fund they would pay out the dividend at the $0.038 or the previous $0.054 per share rate in Canadian funds?

Can you elaborate on how it appears in your account statement?

I have a Taxable Margin account that has a division between My Canadian and US Equities, all transactions appear on the same statement. US and Canadian cash received are divided after payment and all but one of my US dividends shows up with the withheld tax removed (the other shows the transaction of the tax removed after the payment). Does this mean HOT would show up as a Canadian held equity and the payout would be as USD? Below is a recent example of how my dividends appear all together:

FC - Dec 15, 2021 - CAD - Interest - 31.20
MAIN - Dec 15, 2021 - USD - Cash Div - 4.41
MAIN - Dec 15, 2021 - USD - Tax - -0.66
FRU - Dec 15, 2021 - CAD - Cash Div - 43.20
FDUS - Dec 17, 2021 - USD - Cash Div - 44.26

would this show up as USD or CAD in my account?
