RE:Rights offering

I speculated on that move shortly after the announcement. Very astute move, but unfortunately past couple days the price dipped below the offer price like happened 5-6 years ago, so we all could have gotten a better deal.
Ive only been in for 3 of these offerings now. Were they a regular occurrence before the one about 5-6 years ago?
I enjoy these types of financing rather than backdoor private placements or market offerings. I would rather the company come to its investors if they need more money especially if your offering deals on the financings options be it shares, bonds, or preferreds. The once those options are explored to go to the market or private moves.
I'm learning about some of these Private Placement share deals, the biggest thing I learned is that you DO NOT need to be an 'accredited investor' to participate in Canada, but your options are limited and can be difficult to get into a financing deal. In the US it seems it's almost impossible to participate if your not 'accredited'.
