OREA, Montagne d'Or and the wait.

OREA, Montagne d'Or and the wait. For those who are interested in information.

This potential Newmont FG gold mine is years off and well after Macron’s 5 year term is up. Will it see the light of day, who knows, but in terms of NG and OREA, IMHO, based on their present actions neither are interested in any 5+ year wait to mine Montagne d’Or. Further, we should have some clarification re., NG and OREAs potential ‘new’ relationship over Montagne d’Or within the next 5 weeks, before the US sanctions hit NG (and any of its US associates - not OREA).

CLIMATE BOMBS: AFTER MONTAGNE D'OR, HERE IS ESPRANCE, A NEW GOLD MINE PROJECT IN FRENCH GUIANA

https://www.novethic.fr/actualite/environnement/climat/isr-rse/bombes-climatiques-en-france-apres-montagne-d-or-voici-esperance-un-nouveau-projet-de-mine-d-or-en-guyane-150938.html

Just a few dozen kilometers from Montagne d'Or, abandoned by the government in 2019 , another mega gold mine project is being prepared, discreetly. Called Esprance, it is located near the town of Apatou, in the northwest of Guyana, and is carried by the American company Newmont, world leader in the gold sector, associated with a local operator, the mining company Esprance. (CME)…

Also - if below is accurate, then are we to believe that the lower court's rejection of the state's exploration license denial for NG/OREA was simply because the state was not represented at the court hearing? I can't fathom that over sight if true. However, we also stil await (it may be a long time) for the SC final ruling on the exploration licences issue.

In Brief — Mining and Shale Gas

In Guyana, towards a definitive abandonment of the Montagne d'Or mining project?

Is this the final end of the Montagne d'Or mining project in Guyana? According to the media Context , the Council of State is about to cancel the automatic extension of four mining concessions in French Guiana granted to Compagnie Minire de Boulanger. These extensions, attacked by France Nature Environnement, had already been deemed unconstitutional by the Constitutional Council last February.

The Council of State could thus follow the decisions of the Constitutional Council. This would then allow the government to stop the Montagne d'or mining project. Indeed, in May 2019, the government had considered that this project was incompatible with the ecological requirements of France. Except that in December 2020, the Cayenne administrative court had canceled this “  implicit  ” rejection because, during the court hearing, the State was not there to defend its position before the administrative judge.
