RE:US withholding tax?

RE:US withholding tax?Hi Sunny,

No, there is no US withholding tax applied to the monthly distributions.

However, for the 2020 tax year, Slate Grocery declared a 5.5% (approx.) Foreign Tax Paid as part of their distribution breakdown for T3 preparation. This is not a problem cuz you can fully recover this amount as a Foreign Tax Credit when filing with the CRA. To be clear, the 5.5% is hidden within your total distribution - so if you received $100 of cash distribution, the tax breakdown will show $105.50 of RoC, Foreign Income and Capital Gain and $5.50 of Foreign Tax Paid.

Cheers!
