Exciting update!!

Things are looking bright. https://www.jdrf.ca/exciting-update-in-sernovas-type-1-diabetes-t1d-trial/

For those who don't know, JDRF Canada is the largest Canadian charitable funder of type 1 diabetes (T1D) research. This article will provide great exposure for Sernova!

Exciting? To whom? So JDRF Canada got off their butt and provide some PR repetition. In the meantime, the end of January approaches with nothing on the wire about the well worn out rumors of collaborations and deals.

The gutters are lined with investors who lacked patience. There is some luck involved in building a business. But that luck tends to follow preparation and hard work which both require time. Chill and give management time to deliver.

Management should never make repeated promises that they can't keep. It's a great way to kill any momentum and investor confidence. They need to under promise and over deliver. Basic. The fact they can't seem to get listed on the TSX in a timely fashion tells you how long they'll take to do something much more complex. They have been talking about listing on the TSX for a year ...more

Nobody is stopping you from moving on, Bio. Find a management you like. Or does one exist? Let us all know when you hit the road and best luck to you.

better yet... let's find a management we like and install them within SVA.  After communicating repeatedly with Dr. T during 2021, I am less than impressed with developments.  We may have much to thank him for for the past 13 years.  But this new phase of the company's growth may require a new ceo profile.

SBD, Our board chair announced that he was going to take a more hands on approach now.  I'm imagining he feels some obligation for all the DSU's he granted himself.  He's also a long time friend of the IR guy who helped bring DL of Leed Jones into our world of 1,000,000 share dumps on the open market.  Shorty, shorty, short, short. What does the 2022 AGM look like ...more

Ok, so you do not believe Dr. T is the right person in charge at this point in the company's life cycle. Let's explore that thought. According to the company website, Dr. T has been the President and CEO since April, 2009. While at Sernova, Dr. Toleikis has "secured over $60 million in various forms of financings, including equity raises and multiple non-dilutive grants and has ...more

Lol, you obviously haven't been in SVA very long. What a joke regarding your IR analysis. Hahahahaha!!
Comment by LastHurrah on Jan 26, 2022 2:16pm
Perhaps Dr. T's so called "numerous deals" are not realistic as he may be asking for the moon. I just find it odd that management wouldn't enter agreements to advance this so called technology that could not only change lives (and save them) a heck of a lot faster instead of "entertaining" deals. I guess they aren't interested in that aspect, aren't really ...more

Maybe Doc is more interested in keeping the company canadian (as he has stated) and under his control and as icing on the cake might go down in history as the one that cracked the code to cure typ 1 people. Why not? Why stress a deal if he does not have too.
Comment by Metalsguy1 on Jan 26, 2022 3:17pm
Why not? Only a fool believes they are indispensable. This applies to companies as well. If PT is thinking he has the upper hand with the best and final answer we are really scr#wed and just don't know it yet. Just because the known competition has not figured out a better option doesn't mean that there aren't other people out there with some better idea in the works. The clock is ...more

SF... good summary.  And I am not saying Philip did nothing right in the past 13 years.  The clinical studies, the safety of the pouch, conformal coating and identifying other applications... he certainly deserves credit.   But the business side / commercial needs someone else.  A closer.  I don't think Philip has it in him.  Too many "near misses" in ...more

Sailboatdream it is best to think if stockfshr as that fisherman casting his line out on a frozen lake trying to figure out why he never catches any fish in winter. All his analysis does is confirm that he is utterly clueless about the deeper systemic issues at Sernova. We go through IR firms faster than selphie goes through $2 hookers.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, MetalsGuy. You continue to prove what a gentleman and sage you truly are!
Comment by Stockfshr on Jan 26, 2022 2:04pm
All good points, Sailboat. And I agree that Philip appears to be the wrong guy to lead through commercialization, although the confidentiality agreements don't help us investors in gauging managements effectiveness either. Bringing Frank Holler with his corporate experience into operations by changing his role from Chairman to Executive Chair may help but this was done only recently on ...more

Well that will be very difficult. To say the least. What powers do you think we have here? Do we all toghether on this forum have like 1-2% of shares? If you want change you need to speak to the big fish.
