Medi-Call/Telehealth in demand

Virtual healthcare is in demand since the pandemic. DM being in the telehealth market is smart. Looking forward to more Medi-Call updates.

That would be plandemic imo, read old Klauses Swaubs book from 10 years ago, spells it all out!

Virtual healthcare is a good answer to the shortage of doctors across Canada. Doctors who work from home don't have to lease or own seperate office space, employ staff or basically run a business. I'm not sure how much of this load is taken off their shoulders by opting to use a virtual service like Telus Health or Medi-Call, but changing their practices to go virtual is likely going to ...more

Very, very late to the party.  It's over saturated and a race to the bottom for pricing.  Telus has bought many of the big players already.  Unless they are doing something completely different, I don't like their chances.

Being late to the race of getting into telehealth doesnt matter...it's about doctor-patient relationships that really build the qualitly of the service. As long as they build a good patient roster Medi-Call will grow substainially.

Really?  Explain to me how exactly they will build this patient roster, when the top company EQCare, who's been at this longer than anyone & is the only ISO certified company in the sector, has been taken over by Telus, along with others.  What's going to be the difference and are they ISO Certified?  I highly doubt it. I'm honestly interested to know what id their ...more

That's not Telemed my friend, thats Employee & Family Assistance Program material.  On that note, Telus just bought LifeWorks yesterday, so they own a bunch of Telemed Companies and EFAP companies now too.  My guess is it will all be intergrated inot one platform.

Well IceCold, since you asked. "I'm honestly interested to know what id their differentiator that is going to make people change? The other companies already reach out to remote areas and set the patients up with specialists, if need be. Not trying to be a d*ck, genuinely would like to know your reasoning," I'll recount something I read early on in the Medi-Call saga. Apparently ...more

I'd never heard of that before and will keep my ears open on that.  I deal with the Telus's of the world, so I will ask them their thoughts and see if this is somewhere they are going in the future.  Thanks for the feedback.

Isn't that what the whole concept was for IBM Watson? And it was not just the medical field. They were going to have various platforms such as medical, legal, media, language, security, and others. No more need for doctors, no more need for lawyers, etc., etc. Where has that AI platform gotten to? Is DM going to do this better than IBM and Watson? Has anyone ever used Watson?
