RE:It’s Time to Develop Gold Discoveries at FamehubI am a pretty serious environmentalist , but I don`t like stories like this . They always lump gold miners in with everybody else . The head line is Gold Miners but the story is palm oil . Gold is mentioned once as an afterthought . Even open pit mining , especially for gold . has a tiny foot print compared to logging and especially palm oil plantations that are enormous . With all the rules covering mining you could go to their sites 25 years from now and not be able to find them .
I`ll breifly mention modern forestry in Canada . I know a lot more about that . Simply put forestry companies in North America do a much , much better job of deforesting and regenerating forests than nature does . And far more quickly . The people who make a living fighting forestry don`t know what they are talking about .
As for Malaysian palm oil plantations . They are a disgrace . Tell women all over the world to stop plastering their faces with makeup and shovelling ice cream into there mouths before they head out to protest what ever .
