Theralase Technologies Inc. is a Canada-based clinical-stage pharmaceutical company. Additional digging indicates they most certainly have rules against financial conflicts of interest in place to prevent even the appearance that clinical trial activities might be compromised.

Just google "clinical trial financial conflict of interest" (no quotes)

Sounds good to me but I'm not sure whether hospital staff might be prohibited from buying shares of companies whose clinical trials they are conducting. Could definitely be spreading the word to friends/family to somewhat get around any such restrictions though.
