New! BullBoards Anti-Spam What's This? Feedback
Enter the 3 letters shown in the box below.
Due to the large number of complaints we received regarding spam on the BullBoards, we have instituted an anti-spam technology to prevent companies from posting bogus ads as messages. We hope you find that the benefit outweighs the extra step to post a message. Let us know what you think about it.
What is this strange picture?
The image is called a Turing Test after mathematician Alan Turing. It's purpose is to determine if the poster is a person or a machine. The image is dynamically created and shows a random combinations of letters and numbers in a slightly distorted format. Human beings can easily read distorted characters, machines however have a much more difficult time doing this and most cannot do so successfully. In order to post a message to the BullBoards, you must also match the Turing number displayed in the image
Why are you using it?
Simply put, to prevent SPAM. Automatic bots can post large amounts of junk advertisements on your BullBoards costing you time and making reading of the BullBoards less enjoyable. By using a simple test to confirm a person is posting the message, we can improve the StockHouse experience for all.
So there will never be SPAM in the BullBoards?
Unfortunately no. A Spammer could still post a message manually. However, this method is slow and not profitable which, in the end, is the best deterrent.
