RE: From Shy Thread 222 ft of pay!wing, FWIW I have discussed this Allen Ranch situation with a geologist buddy of mine, who has worked extensively with the Texas Wilcox formations, and is following Sharon pretty closely, and he basically concured with all my points. Over-emphasis of "closeology" (as I call it) regarding oil & gas wells can be hazardous to your wealth, but in this case I stand by my initial point that, due to the similar seismic signature of the sands in each fault block, the results of that Newfield well are strongly inferential regarding Sharon's well, notwithstanding that they are in separate fault blocks.
Since you are so brilliant regarding this industry let me ask you a question. Will Diaz be able to include any reserves discovered by this last Allen Ranch well in their year-end '05 reserve report? Based on the press releases, it appears to have been completely drilled to TD and logged by the end of the year, but was not perforated and production tested until subsequent to year-end.
If Diaz will be able to include reserves discovered by this last Allen Ranch well in the '05 report, this means we will be getting a very good idea what they found there by the end of March, when their reserve report is due I believe.
If you care to respond to this post, I would greatly appreciate it if you could find it within yourself to refrain from being condescending or belittling, or is that asking for too much??
