PRESS RELEASE – TONE RESOURCES COMPLETES TWO HOLE DRILL TEST ON GOLD BAR NORTH PROJECT AND COMMENCES DRILL TEST ON SOUTH WALL PROJECT, BOTH LOCATED ON THE BATTLE MTN – EUREKA (“CORTEZ”) TREND, NEVADA.
Scott D. Baxter, President and CEO of Tone Resources Limited (“the Company”) is pleased to announce the completion of two drill holes on the Company’s Gold Bar North Project and the commencement of drilling on the Company’s South Wall Project. Both projects are located in the Roberts Mountains area of the southern Battle Mtn – Eureka (“Cortez”) Gold Trend.
<>The Company’s Gold Bar North project is located on trend with, and 6 to 9 kilometers north-northwest of Atlas’ Gold Bar mine. Jim Wright, Wright Geophysics, recommended 6 sites on the Company’s Gold Bar North property as drill target tests. Four of the sites test the prospective north-northwest linear structural zone indicated by “extreme (gravity) gradients.” The drill holes are designed to provide the first drill tests of the defined strong linear gravity gradient and associated gravity high that suggest the presence of a major northwest-trending structure juxtaposed against an uplifted block of permissive lower-plate rock.
Hole GBN06-1 was a vertical hole drilled to 900 feet. The hole drilled through 385 feet of mostly unaltered rhyolite before intersecting locally altered upper-plate mudstones and limey siltstones, and about 70 feet of mafic intrusive near the bottom of the hole. GBN06-2 was a minus 55º, westward-directed angle hole on the same site drilled to 900 feet . This hole intersected 450 feet of essentially unaltered rhyolite before intersecting locally altered upper-plate calcareous siltstones, and then passed through a structure at about 620 feet and drilled almost 300 feet of locally brecciated, sulfidized, and silicified permissive lower-plate limestone to 900 feet.
GBN06-1 and 2 provided a preliminary test of only one of four sites selected and permitted for drilling. Unfortunately, deteriorating access resulting from muddy ground conditions caused by unseasonably warm temperatures prohibit further drilling other Gold Bar North target sites at this time. Assay results and assessment of the results are pending.
The drill was recently moved to the South Wall Project several miles away to drill two holes to test the Webb-Devils Gate contact adjacent to the southeast extension of the Wall structure. The Wall structure provides control to the Pot Canyon and Gold Canyon gold deposits about 4 miles to the northwest. Drill hole SW06-1 was completed on Feb. 25. This vertical hole drilled weakly altered Woodruff mudstone to 485 feet, then intersected silicified, oxidized Webb siltstone to 670 feet, then intersected a baritic, black jasperoid breccia from 670-730 feet, and terminated in Devils Gate limestone at 750 feet. SW06-1 appears to be a good test of the prolifically gold-endowed Webb-Devils Gate contact zone at this location. Drilling is in progress at the SW06-2 site approximately 270 meters to the northeast.
Tone Resource’s business is to seek out, acquire, and explore gold opportunities in the north-central region of Nevada. Including the Gold Bar North and the South Wall Projects, the Company currently has eight projects located within the major gold trends of north-central Nevada.
