PBG trades in sympathy with other energy stocks, so ups and downs are like tidal action. My own opinion is that PBG will not start a true rise until we get more news on THAI. News of further progress will push it no more than 10-12%, IMHO. News that other oil sands players are interested in THAI will push it more vigorously. News that the govt is concerned about despoiling the environment via oil sands mining and SAGD water pollution will also have an effect, but only if it looks like the Conservatives can hold the govt. And who knows about that.
As a US citizen, the big question is the value of the buck vs loonie, which could hurt my holdings. We might see weakness just due to the outlook for the Canadian economy.
