RE: Oil vs Gold I wish I had the disipline to be diversified, unfortunatlly I have bet the farm on gold stocks. For what its worth, I don't think it matters if there is deflation or inflation as far as the POG is concerned. I think deflation will produce an even lower US dollar, thus pushing gold higher. The US dollar has been the "currency gold standard" for a long time, and central banks around the world will continue to sell off the US dollar and purchase gold to hedge against the currency risk associated with inflation/deflation. You are right in the sense that historically inflation has been good for gold, but deflation (very different from low inflation) can produce the same result. Oil baffles me in the short term, I have no idea where it will end up? But I beleive deflation "in the USA" will happen regardless. IMO anyway, to much thinking for one day...good luck to you
