RE: Growth of Zinc ProductionMehdiabad lets not forget Mehdiabad as it is projected by some to be adding to supply in 2010. I'm skeptical. The project is in central Iran. Union Resources of Australia was the driving force, but the Iranians kicked them out and Union is no longer a partner. The project is not yet under construction nor is financing in place. Basic shortages in Iran include--of all things--diesel fuel...they do not have refinery capacity for domestic gas and diesel consumption. The French have a habit of financing projects in places like Iran, but they have not yet stepped up to the place with the estimated US$ 1.65 billion for construction.
