I doubt if the successor has been picked. I don't know about the "big" deal- but some deals were deferred to future Quarters. But no negative guidance for the current Quarter which is why, I believe, shorts may be in for "near term" trouble. Certicom will have to be judicious- litigation can and usuually costa lot- if they have to go to trial. IP is hard to quantify: except CIc has received lump sum payments from NSA and Gen Dy for their complete portfolio. NSA payment may be argued as somewhat irrelevant since they weren't a competitor and Gen DY is a customer who is also licensing technology and not merely IP. IP creates significant barriers to entry.- as does ECC itself. But I wouldn't know what its worth. Hope this helps a little.
