What the 49.5 ct brown COULD have been

What the 49.5 ct brown COULD have beenCompare our little beaut to what it could have been: Large Congo lower quality diamond weighing 111.03 carats. This stone has a large section that apparently was cleaved/broken off. It probably weighed 190 carats originally. Upon enlarging you will see the other side of the stone with the cleavage surface. Left to right: 24.72 ct., 23.31ct.(drc) this a cuttable stone, it has a heavy coating on it and the interior is revealed through a small cleaved off section which can be seen on the lower part of the stone., 21.75 ct. Now compare once more to our big brown baby: The following ring sold for $113,523. Pear-shaped fancy to Fancy Dark Yellow-Brown diamond weighing approximately 27.25 carats, within an openwork platinum mounting accented with 186 small round diamonds weighing approximately 3.80 carats.
