RE: The importance of the economics - JoesplitS - there is no question that focusing on the most important objective is necessary. Sometimes though, what you choose as your most important objective will have a profound impact on where you go. An example I can think of is Honda Motor Co. This company had an objective of producing and selling superior quality motors. But they had trouble selling them to anyone. Because of that, they decided to get into auto manufacturing - so that they could produce and sell motors. This was, and still is their focus. This led to other manufacturing as well. The end result has been a very successful company - because of the objective they chose and that they stuck to. Had they chose to be the low cost producer of low end motors, they would have become a much different company.
