NOT PICTURING GOLD AT THE JACOBUS
NOT PICTURING GOLD AT THE JACOBUSNICKEL COPPER CAMP?
CANT PICTURE GOOD GOLD GRADES COMING FROM THIS BASE METAL CAMP?
NOT THE RIGHT GEOLOGY FOR IT?
FROM OLD RECORDS
Andesite, dacite and felspar porphyry (VOLCANICS) have been intruded by granodiorite-quartz diorite of the
Elmhirst Lake Stock
PICTURE THE GEOLOGY ON EITHER SIDE OF THE JACOBUS BASE METAL CAMP.
TO THE RIGHT, THE ELMHIRST PLUTON (HERCULES GRANODIORITES)
IN THE MIDDLE, THE JACOBUS GABBROS.
TO THE LEFT, THE FELSIC VOLCANICS.
FROM THE OLD RECORDS ON THE AREA, GRANODIORITES OF THE ELMHIRST STOCK OR (ELMHIRST PLUTON HERCULES ZONE) HAVE BEEN ENCOUNTERED BENEATH THE FELSIC VOLCANICS TO THE LEFT (WEST) OF THE JACOBUS GABBROS ALSO AN INTRUSIVE GEOLOGICAL BODY.
PLUTONS ARE GENERALLY PEAR SHAPED UPWARD THRUST GRANITOID OR GABBROIC INTRUSIONS. HENCE THE ANGLED WALLS THAT LAY WELL BENEATH THE OUTER VOLCANICS AS IN THIS EXAMPLE DIAGRAM.

IF YOU DRILL JUST OFF THE GABBROS THROUGH THE OVERLYING VOLCANICS, YOU ENCOUNTER MORE GABBRO (DIPPING STRUCTURE)
DRILL FURTHER STILL OFF THE GABBROS DEEPER DOWN THROUGH THE VOLCANICS, YOU ENCOUNTER THE BURIED PEAR SHAPED BODY OF THE ELMHIRST PLUTON ALL ONE AND THE SAME TO THE ELMHIRST STOCK KODIAK HERCULES GRANODIORITES EXTENDING DEEP BEYOND THE CURRENT JACOBUS DRILL SITES.
NOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH THE SAGE ZONE N E OF JACOBUS WHICH IS ELMHIRST PLUTON GRANODIORITE BEDROCK EXPOSED AT THE SURFACE.
TAKING INTO CONSIDERATION THE EXTENSIVE FAULTING AROUND THE JACOBUS AND THE OPEN TRANSPORT ROUTES THEY SERVE IN THE TRANSPORT OF MINERALIZATION THROUGHOUT THE INTRUSIVE CONTACTS AND ALTERED BODIES THEMSELVES, THERE MAY BE SOME REAL HOPE FOR GOOD GOLD RESULTS OUT OF THE REMAINING JACOBUS ASSAYS YET.
