I haven't done extensive research on this assertion by any means but I'm rather shocked by it because just down the coast from LPS' Vancouver headquarters, in Seattle, there is another publically traded company in the same business, namely Microplanet (mp on the venture market). That company not only has voltage optimization technology but has begun to rollout its technology commercially with a $6 million contract with an Australian utility. One would think that LPS's CEO would be more knowledgeable or careful in his statements. Clearly, in the new era of high utilitiy costs there is plenty of room for more than one company in this sector. Moreover, I'm not comparing the technolgies of MP an LPS. I need to research this latter point. My only point here is that it is misleading to suggest that LPS has no competition.
