RE: kinrossI agree, it was a deal that had to be done. Getting money at a nice premium to market, getting a strategic partner that is interested in potentially other diamond opportunities for HW, the shares being subscribed for will never hit the market...overall, while we may not like to see dilution at these levels, it is a deal that will benefit us as HW was likely going to be pounded down further with the uncertainty about its existing fiancial situation.
I think Mountain Province Diamonds (TSX: MPV) will be a company that Kinross/HW will be looking at closely -- and perhaps pursuing (as it also has been beaten down over the past 4 months -- $5.50 now down to $0.75). They have a very robust deposit also in the Northwest Territories (where Diavik is located) that has 46 million carats (and potentially more).
