The Chinese are extremely tough negociators. They can drive you nuts long before a deal is reached.

However, they were piling cash like crazy during the up cycle (while other governments were piling up debts) and they are now closing deals on natural resources around the world. They bought and are still buying what they will need for the next up cycle: oil, ferts, copper, etc...
