Good morning, Resource Investors.

Gold has given traders a ride the past week. First, it recovered sharply off its recent downtrend, powering mostly on weaker dollar figures -- until Tuesday, that is, when the Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke talked down the prospects for inflation and the yellow metal took it on the chin. Still, gold is significantly off its recent lows that saw it flirting with $900 an ounce.

Copper continues its drive higher, reaching nine-month highs near the psychologically significant $2.50 per ounce level. Longer-term, the analysis firm Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. released a report that found the price of copper should continue to rise as supplies tighten as a result of demand from developing countries and China continues to consume major amounts of the base metal.
