RE: short postion increasing
RE: short postion increasingThere are easier shorts out there than TCK.B - much safer ones too IMHO. Volatility and technicals are rank (Read are you fighting a trend - at least for now) - but simple logic abounds:
Teck more tightly held than ever. (Read less holders lending shares to shorts to open - are you lending? CIC, board and family won't ;)
Teck found new support levels, new solid floor from CIC. (Read China wants capital preservation or growth here, there's no dividend remember?)
Fundamentals - particularily Teck's if not sector or macro - are all moving in the correct direction - against a recent short towards close, cover or worse - margin call. (Read why are market regulators moving to permanently close loopholes like naked or implementing uptick, houses changing margin requirements - to protect the market due to, for or in spite of shorts?)
So - aren't there any other option traders around here?
Why don't some of you shorts consider a safe set of OPTION strategies. Spreads or collars for instance can work depending on your strategy if your timing, strikes and risk tolerance for recent volatility are sound IMHO - simple PUT purchase represents a small outlay for pretty decent leverage...
...hey, if you're short and writing calls (preferably covered) let us longs know your ASKs.
Many here sure to fill your orders.
Or call you away...
