Canadian Operations segment includes the exploration for, development of, and production of oil, NGLs, natural gas and other activities within Canada. Market Optimization segment is primarily responsible for the sale of the Company’s production to third-party customers and enhancing the associated netback price. The segment’s activities also include third-party purchases and sales of product to provide operational flexibility.

Where from here?

So with the sale of assets to Bonavista Energy Trust netting about $632 million and a billion dollar divestiture target for this year... and a possible spinoff of their oil assets becoming "Cenovus" corp...

...what huge unconventional resource are they looking to buy? How much shale reserves could you pick up for a couple billion these days?

Exxon is really quiet about their Horn River shale numbers. Is Encana still wieldly enough to walk softly and carry a big stick?
