RE: RE: Merlin update 8/26
I would prognosticate that once the primary exploration at OT is finally advanced a few steps further (much more to come IMHO), ETG's exciting secrets revealed and swallowed up, there will be an auction of at least 2 mines, and not less than 4 go into development - maybe even more. The Mongolians will retain their 34% of each.
The amount of capital required calls for at least one owned by the Chinese, one by the Russians, and two or three international majors from the remaining G-10 to throw in as well, to enforce political discipline and international financial security on the project. The Mongolians need supervision, and nothing like a Red Army tank brigade and the Russian idea of good behaviour to make sure they stand by their agreements.
OT is going to be a significant strategic part of the advancement of the new international economy, just as Chile was to the last century, and the build-out of modern Europe and the Americas. Mongolia has a very bright future and if they play by the rules every chance to build the ideal modern society and protect their heritage and independence. The writing has been on the wall for a few years, very frustrating to watch how slowly it has taken the penny to drop ... although I can't be upset about the shares gifted away last Winter for basically no price at all.
Our illustrious paradoxical Chairman has 100 million reasons to re-demonstrate his brilliant deal-making abilities and recover cash galore to advance his next big score. Then parlay the Aussie prospects. Buy IVN, sock it away and forget about it for a few years - you will not be dissappointed.
Tom Meyer is a podium finisher in a fool's Olympics. One of the best investments of a lifetime staring him in the face and he scorns it. What a dunce.
No kidding!
