Thur 9/3 volumeGold Fields unloaded their Eldorado shares yesterday thru NBF. ELD may do some catching up today if the AU price stays up.
5:12 (Dow Jones) The big volume in Eldorado Gold's (EGO) Canadian-listedshares Thursday was apparently due to the sale by Gold Fields (GFI) of its 27.8MEldorado shares. GFI acquired the shares in a June share-swap deal that involvedthe exchange of the EGO shares for GFI' Sino Gold Mining (SGX.AU) shares. (EGOsubsequently proposed a friendly takeover of Sino Gold last month.) "It's myunderstanding" that GFI was able to monetize its EGO stake, EGO Chief FinancialOfficer Earl Price told Dow Jones Thursday. Officials from GFI weren'timmediately available. In Toronto, EGO, which trades under the symbol ELD.T,closed up C$0.43 to C$12.30 on volume of 39.5M shares. That's about 36M shareshigher than ELD.T's 30-day average volume. (SEW)
