VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Dec 18, 2009 (Marketwire via COMTEX News Network) --

Yankee Hat Minerals Ltd. ("Yankee Hat" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:KHT) announces that at the Company's Annual General Meeting held on December 16th, 2009, shareholders re-elected P. Bradley Kitchen, Terence Schorn and Terry Fields to the Board of Directors for the upcoming year. Motions approving the reappointment of BDO Dunwoody LLP as auditors, approving the Incentive Stock Option Plan and the setting of the number of directors at five (5) were also approved by the Company's shareholders.

Additionally, the shareholders of Yankee Hat have also approved, at the discretion of management, the possible consolidation of the Company's issued shares on the basis of up to five (5) pre-consolidation common shares for one (1) post-consolidation common share.

All resolutions submitted by the Company's management to shareholders for consideration were approved as presented. The Incentive Stock Option Plan and the possible share consolidation will remain subject to TSX Venture Exchange approval.
