RE: RE: RE: Exuberant Expectations (multi dollar)AK47 & Scud,
Appreciate the debate but lets tone it down, we've been generally a very friendly and professional board here for years.
AK47 - with respect to your post about Linear & Central Sun. Linear is a Nova Scotian Company, but nearly the rich properties that it acquired are outside the country with associated risks etc. Colleagues who have been speaking with them say they have no intention of being involved in the NS exploration game but are following the OX/OSK story very closely, according to their CEO.
With respect to expectations. Everyone should stop thinking of $1 on initial results from Phase 2E. Scud is right, it will take either finding the motherlode (something highly unlikely) or more realistically an updated NI43-101 completed before any massive moves upwards. Much of this stock is closely held by individuals and funds and relatively few shares day trade on news, and its my knowledge that whenever possible long holders close to the company (many lurking here) are picking up shares at these prices and holding them, thus taking out the nearly 750k shares that came onto the market last week after the hold period on the PP participants expired.
It will take additional institutional funds buying in and the existing ones expanding their positions to force the price up, and they will not invest based on assays from 10 core samples, they will invest based on third party audited reports. PDAC makes an opportunity to show off and get more introductions. I know for a fact Mark is actively looking and get things in front of fund managers. It just takes time and results.
I expect, however, that the short term news releases (barring massive gold finds) will influence share price and it will appreciate, but certainly not by 10 times current valuation, maybe 2x?.
However, expectations regarding the share price long-term should be high for the following reasons:
1. Most of the major early investors and shareholders of this company bought in at
.30/share or even higher -- this includes Jacques and many of the Quebec based investors, and some here in NS. The reality is they are not going to sell for any price that is a small multiple of
.30 since they themselves have high expectations... otherwise they wouldn't have held on for nearly 20 years. They can kill any deal for a buy-out from OSK.
2. According to some reports about 50% of the shares of this company are very closely held by friends of the original company investors. There seems to be huge solidarity among them - so again they will hang in together.
3. There is a shareholder's rights plan for a reason. It will force any acquiring company to ensure they value the offer fairly, otherwise the directors can consider it hostile and dilute the company significantly.
4. OSK is funding a regional resource overview/survey as part of the drilling and exploration. Ask yourself why do that now and share the results with OX if OSK isn't truly intending to develop this as a regional play with OX as a partner?
