GM adding e-mail to Cadillac models Thursday, April 6, 2000 General Motors will offer an optional infotainment system with voice-activated e-mail capability starting this fall in the 2001 Cadillac DeVille and Seville. ''The Internet has conditioned us to want instant access to information and e-mails, and that desire doesn't go away when a person enters an automobile,'' said Mark Hogan, president of e-GM unit, the automaker's e-commerce division. GM will deliver e-mail and other Web-based information to vehicles through OnStar Virtual Advisor, a voice-activated service in which drivers will hear the information through the vehicle's audio system.
