RE: RE: vein16
RE: RE: vein16vein16 - twist off's, stuck pipe, hole problems are a simple cost of doing business in any difficult terrain. Heck we get enough of these all too often here in good old Albertastan and in neighboring Bring Cash (British Columbia).
Yes a bad case of stuck pipe and well control problems can cost some serious coin - but much of this is already factored into the AFE for the drilling budget as well as in well control insurance. Yes sometimes corporate largesse stinks sometimes - heck even I get envious from time to time - but thats the way it is in just about every business you can name be it oil and gas, banking, telecoms, media, biotech, construction and yes - even in government.
If you want to blame everybody that steps up to the plate and gets a job done and gets rewarded handsomely for doing it thats fine - but take on the whole enterprise not just one or two bit part players...
Vast is partnered with Niko on drilling a very interesting and potentially quite profitable structure in Kurdistan. I'm sure there are all kinds of interesting things being done under the various counters in various offices and corporate headquarters - but bottom line they are drilling a well on a very prospective (and large) structure and while they may well be having some problems - pretty soon they will either have the "Mother of all Hydrocarbon discovery news releases - or they will have to eat some humble pie and go find something else to get us all hot and bothered about. We already know all this - tell us something new and something relevent. Thanks in advance.
