Re Manfred 24 queries and comments

Re Manfred 24 queries and commentsI don't believe there were any big defense companies wanting to buy OSI. I heard that OSI had approached Raytheon and possibly L3 but that they were turned down by both companies. I don't think I agree about having value for major defense companies. I don't see any new business in the coutnries mentioned in the previous post. Those are all past contracts that are either completed or have very little dollar value left in them.

Sperry have the lock on the US market both above and below water. It is not a Buy America issue, but a question of company viability and ability to market to the US. If the USN "wanted" ECPINS, they would have bought it by now - they are not obligated to buy things like this that are made in the USA.

As berrisfueller points out, is a program manager going to risk his program with a badly run penny-ante company or go with someone who can absorb risk. The best way out of this malaise is to can the CEO and Board and install some guys with real naval credentials.

However, I think it is almost too late for that. Without a real product innovation plan, properly funded, properly managed and properly communicated, this company's product line is doomed. I see no leadership for taking this product forward to successful sales in the near to mid term.
