Just checked the temp.......up in Rankin "WIND CHILL WARNING IN EFFECT"
going down to -61 overnight. Interesting that Dwyan
Carr was up there during the week of FEb 20/11.
Most likely scouting out locations for this summer's
camp site & drill program. Should be getting some
firm info on that soon. I wonder how much work will
actuallyget done this season as everything equipment
wise would have to be already at a marshalling site either
at Whale Cove or Rankin Inlet. Since the barges only come
in late in the fall, the gear will most likely come n that way.
since it's the cheapest.Other alternative is to Herced in; or
tractored in from Churchill over the ice of Hudson Bay.
But there is a camp moth balled at Maze Lake that may be
arrange to be used or moved. The Maze Lake camp is a few
minuites flight by chopper from camp to the first of the Pros-
pecting Blocks for the Permits that NQ was awarded ust this
past Feb 01/11. The camp has a long cook tent, an assey
tent and about 8 tents that sleep 4 men each.
So in order to get a good season in this summer, here are
some of the possible options that would make this possible.
a) NQ's supply barge already came in last fall and landed the
drills, camp, fuel, etc either at Whale Cove or Rankin.
b)They are going to haul the needed freight and equiptment from
Churcillover the sea to the claims starting anytime soon.
c) Herc everything to Whale Cove or Rankin than cat train it to the
claims this winter.
May be any off the above or none. We'll just have to wait and see.
Soon as the supplies and gear are confirmed a go; watch the sp
spike!
