You've just proven what I said.  GGR is a subsidiary i.e. still exists and is the owner of Magino. Do you know why GGR still exists? It is not a relic - it is an active and essential legal entity. Do you even know why?

Kodiak Changes Name to Prodigy Gold Incorporated

Which confirms that it is meaningless to talk about a new company - it is just a name change.

What difference does any of this make?  You sound like you are arguing about the bar tab on the Titanic.  Don't take everything so literally.  IMO by 'new company' people simply mean a new property, new focus, new potential, etc.  I don't think people are talking in terms of 'technically' or 'legally'.  It does not matter.
The past is the past... this is the exploration business... the name of the game is to keep working until you find a property that 'works out'... KXL/PDG has kept working and they now seem to have found that property.  Ups and downs along the way?... Hell yes... to expect/demand otherwise is being completely unrealistic.
