RE: RE: UK Office

RE: RE: UK OfficeThanks Tenacious. I admire your staying power!  I was quite heavily invested in OSI as I saw a real gem in the Soldier systems.  I always investigate thoroughly before committing my money, so I was very disappointed in the way the company was allowed to slide.  It really had a lot of potential but Kirkpatrick was certainly not the man for the job.  Also Johnson has his hands all over this and it will take a tough line from McAuley to turn this around - quite frankly, with the current Board, I would say almost impossible.

They are getting reasonable signs of an upturn out of the Pacific Rim and I would suggest that the Middle East is a fertile ground, although they have let Sperry get into that market with no challenge.  I hear KK screwed the pooch in UAE, but no surprise there.  They face stiff competition from people like Systematic for the ACT business, but what they need above all is a strategy that they invest in and execute.  Kirkpatrick flip-flopped all over the polace and Johnson and the Board allowed him to do it.

OSI needs to focus on one area at a time and concentrate resources there. I say forget Europe, focus on South America (lots of oil money) and Pacific Rim (lots of natural resource money...Australia will be paying for the floods for a while so go for the other countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia).  Gibbs has a stab at it so I hear but couldn't cut the mustard.  Get a real professional who has vision and drive
