Silicone
SiliconeBy law, SHH is required to use medical grade silicone. My understanding is that the silicone must pass toxicity standards but that doesn't address the bonding issue that could occur inside the ear canal should there be bladder failure. Anyone that has sealed around a bathroom sink or tub knows, if left to solidify, silicone can be very difficult to remove from your hands. If the government moves in and mandates ear dams prior to fitting, what will that do the seemingly low cost of self fitting?
Shelf life of the silicone/hardener may also play prominently in retailers not carrying large inventories. My experience is with 2 part epoxies (6 month shelf life) and may be different with silicone.
I'm not really expecting to see answers to these questions and issues. Hey, can't even get a idea as to how many units SHH plans to sell. Wdr2's answer to any question is to just buy more stock and promise better days ahead based on absolutely nothing. As for being in the ninety's for using foam earplugs, well if that is the 90% of the population using foam earplugs for hearing protection, then guilty as charged. Wdr2, it's pretty obvious that you'll say anything to discredit anyone with a different view even at the expense of your own credibility and intelligence.
I really don't think anything I bring up isn't anything any potential investor should be asking. When it is response to the issues that can't be backed up by the SHH spin doctors, it's considered bashing. If that make me a basher, then go ahead and pin that label on me and any other potential investor.
