RE: Peru needs Humalaover the last decade Peru's poverty level dropped from the high 50% to the low 30s. A big part of that was the investments that came to the country, a lot in the mining sector. Children's malnutrition has improved as has education. I would say they are going in the right direction.
If Humala came in, quite a bit of investment dollars would go elsewhere and Peru would hurt for it IMO. The situation is not perfect but has seen a big improvement over the past decade. If Humala got in, there would be way too much uncertainty as to what he may do. And we all know how markets and investments react with uncertainly...
