RE: 1st quarter spin off for ILC

So after reading everything I coul find, I'm still trying to figure out what the spinoff means for current shareholders.
Isn't part of our stock value invested in the piece that's being "Spun off"? So would that mean we lose some of our TNR value or do we get ILC shares in lieu?
How does this work exactly?
