RE: Good comment, mouserman
Hello SilverInMyPants!
No, I hadn't seen the XCAP report on Arian when I posted the news about Silvermex's April Presentation. But since then, having done a few chores and eaten lunch, I also opened up the Arian Report and read it. (Mind you, I hasten to add, it will take more than a cursory read to get my arms around it.)
That was all I did this morning with the Silvermex April Presentation. I must admit my first impression was that someone was "trying", but it didn't jump off the page! At the time, I was preparing something for mouserman so I couldn't do much more than notice it and report it.
There is, of course, no comparison with the Arian commissioned report. That is a professional job, and I don't think Silvermex, at the present time at least, has the ability to produce something like that. Not for lack of reserves, lack of cash, or lack of time; they just don't have it.
I liken it to the situation aboard a ship, the good ship "Silvermex"! We have Duane, Executive Officer whose function it is to get La Guitarra running at 350 tons per day, in order to produce cash flow.
The larger issues of policy, direction and publicity seem to be under the direct control of Captain, Arthur Brown who, unfortunately may be getting a little long on the tooth, and spends most of his life ashore. In other words, I get the image of an autocratic leader who spends his working day (whatever that may be!) in boardrooms of the 48 contacts he is accredited with by Amcol International:
Arthur Brown| age 68, became a director of the Company in 1990. He is a member and Chairman of the Audit Committee and a member of the Compensation Committee. Prior to his retirement, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Hecla Mining Company, a producer of silver and gold.
So, I see Duane Nelson shouldering what has to be done to get things working inside, and nobody of any consequence working to promote the Company.
Having said all that, I agree with you 100% that an independent report similar to that of Arian would be a major step forward. In other words, we need to farm out the "promotion" portfolio.
Page 28, that I tried to reproduce below but failed, shows Arian's projected share price for the next couple of years based on different silver value scenarios.
As to the report in general, I felt it included a lot of background music related to the "health" of the world economy in general. But that may be excused as it is not just an Arian-produced report, but an "independent" one.
I have collated many of the postings on this Board during the past couple of weeks in a Word document. Yours, of course, are included! Mouserman will be back home from Thailand shortly and has indicated in one of his posts that he intended to speak to the Company. Perhaps he'll find some use for my compendium of postings as a useful reference of the strong opinions expressed on our Board.
Perhaps, too, our own Mr Anderson will step in and either straighten out the Silvermex Board members or, if we're all wrong, straighten us out! Either way, I'd love to hear from him.
