A Hypothetical ScenarioLet us conjecture that we have two forces at work here that have been actively seeking to hold the share price down: Shorters/Bashers and Banks/Funds.
Shorters/Bashers (SBs) are attempting to lower the sp because they've shorted.
Banks/Funds (BF) are attempting to hold down the sp, but not damage it, because they are accumulating.
There reaches a point at which BFs will want to let the sp loose, let it rise to its true market value - otherwise there would be no point to the accumulation.
BFs will not allow the price to drop to that point where the SBs are off the hook - to do so would damage the potential sp.
Tomorrow and through the following week of NRs, if the BFs continue to hold a static, unresponsive sp (assuming they could hold it down in the face of a possible surge of buying), it could damage future sp as the stock would appear to be immune to growth regardless of the amount of positive news. If BFs have been accumulating with the intent to eventually let the sp grow, it is over the next week they need to let it loose or they are threatening the optimization of their investment.
If the BFs do let it go - and support the sp's rise - the SBs will get squeezed, prompting a cascade of buying into a rising ask.
The BFs are cold, calculating, ruthless. They would be perfectly aware of the volume of shorts and where such a tipping point would be.
Given this hypothetical scenario, we may just see a rapid rise of sp and a clean-out of the Shorters/Bashers over the next week.
Just a possibility to ponder. GLTALs.
