RE: Confused
RE: Confused Not sure what the mystery is? Speculation is that these financial institutionsare down but not out. A buy here at thislevel yields 21% plus there is the capital gain that will naturally occur once regularconsecutive dividends are declared.
I have held gold stocks for months, all the while the share price spun its wheels and earned nothing while I waited for drill results. Investor buying at this time are looking long term and are not trying to 'time the market'.
I have not bought or sold any of my FFN since the n.a.v. dropped below $15.00. I too am monitoring its trend. Once the sector beings to come back to life I will buy. Stocks like LFE is a good sign of green sprouts. US debt ceiling, QE2 and European debt issues are placing a damper on this market. But this too will change. Looking 6 months out buyers are betting that todays market conditions are bottoming and hence an up side will occur.
I believe that most investors realize the underlining value of FFN is currently $4.75. That when a dividend is declared this value is only $5.?? and not $15.??. The 15%-20+% yield highlights this risk.
That's my 2¢ worth
