Junior Miner BonTerra Resources Identified for Portfolio Consideration - Expanding Gold Zones and Ripe for New High-Grade Discovery
5/27/2011 3:02:20 AM - BSR

May 27, 2011 (ACCESSWIRE via COMTEX News Network) --

Equities of select junior miners are by far the best vehicles for wealth creation, the risk reward ratio on the junior miners are very significant and if you are willing to take the risk and diversify accordingly the orders of magnitude are there. This understanding of the risk-reward potential was the reason why James West (regular guest on BNN, contributing commentator to a host of mining publications, editor of the Midas Letter, and recent CNBC Fast Money discussion panel member) has identified BonTerra Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE: BTR) (Frankfurt: 9BR) (Pink Sheets: BONXF) as one of the best vehicles for investors seeking serious strong growth prospects in precious metals in a safe mining friendly jurisdiction.

BonTerra is ripe for major discovery potential as it is under full drill mode at its Eastern Extension gold property which is ideally situated in the new and rapidly developing mining camp of the Urban-Barry Segment of the Abitibi Greenstone Belt located ~170km NE of Val-d'Or in Quebec. Going into Q2 2011 BonTerra had mobilized a new NQ sized drill rig capable of drilling to depths of 1500 metres on the Eastern Extension gold property and brought 800 barrels of fuel to the site to enable an aggressive summer drill program once the current phase of winter drilling is complete. The goal of BonTerra's drill program is to test the outer reaches of the gold zones with the intent on focusing on infill drilling in the future.

In Q1 2011 James West acknowledged the tremendous potential of both BonTerra's Quebec gold project and the region, he stated "With continued drilling success, there is little doubt that BonTerra represents an excellent opportunity with 10-bagger potential for risk-tolerant investors".

Some of the first drill holes of 2011 were drilled to extend the known gold zone both to the east and northwest of BonTerra's BA-10-02 which assayed 21.24 grams/tonne gold over 7.73 metres. Assay results released in April revealed BTR.V was continuing to hit quality gold values, positioning BonTerra as close to outlining a strike length of gold mineralization a half a kilometer in length. BonTerra Resources is presently awaiting the assays from five deep drill holes at the Eastern Extension gold project. The company is expanding the high grade gold zones intersected in BA-10-08 that resulted in 14.84 g/t over 7.00 metres. So far (as of early May 2011), BonTerra had drilled 32 drill holes totaling ~7,000 metres at the property.

BonTerra's area claim groups are situated next to two big deposits, one which is now being compared to Detour Gold; BonTerra has the same style of deposit as the neighboring Metanor Resources' Barry deposit property which contains 309,500 oz Au of Indicated Resources (7,701,000 t at 1.25 g/t Au), 471,950 oz Au of Inferred Resources (10,411,000 t at 1.41 g/t Au). The independent international professional geological firm SGS Geostat has now identified the neighboring Barry deposit as comparable in potential to rival other major deposits such as Osisko's Malartic gold deposit & Detour Gold's Detour deposit (which contains an open pit mineral reserve of 11.4 million ounces of gold).

BonTerra's deposit, the neighboring Barry deposit, and neighboring Windfall deposit are likely all part of the same structure -- in fact Metanor's structure moves southeast towards BTR.V with Metanor's IP geophysical anomalies lighting up like a Christmas tree headed towards BTR.V. The neighboring Windfall property (located ~10Km from BTR.V claims) presently owned by Eagle Hill Exploration (EAG - V) recently announced another new gold zone and has completed significant steps towards the definition of a large gold system, potentially amenable to bulk mining. BonTerra is also in close proximity to Amseco, Beaufield, Glen Eagle, Urbana and Freewest, Murgor and Noront.

It is important to remember that area miners such as Aur Resources (now Teck Cominco), Agnico-Eagle and Sigma are currently mining at depths of between 5,000 and 8,000 feet. It is very common in this region for the grades to increase at depth and with the values BonTerra is intersecting near surface, it is clear that BTR.V is worth being involved with now as it expands the gold zones, encounters new high grade discoveries, and works with the geological consulting firm A. Geologica Inc. towards the preparation of a resource estimation.
