RE: Alpha/ NineLivesYes, the Alpha obscures the main trading TMX platform so we often do not get the real picture. The Alpha handles a great deal of resource-stock trading and I have had to phone my trading rep. a few times recently to find out where my shares ended up because they were not showing up on the TMX Board. Another point about the Alpha is that the price differential can be significant with different Bid and Asks. For example, a little while ago I placed an order to buy some ANX at .075 cents when the Bid was .07 and the Ask was .075cents. In otherwords, I was really buying at the market although my bid price was a limited bid. The TMX Board clearly showed that .07-.075cents spread with no room either way to play with. When the market opened I was filled on the Alpha at .07cents!!!. Now that was a complete surprise to me as I had no real hope of getting those shares at .07cents on the TMX with thousands of shares being bid for at .07cents in front of me. I still can't figure out how it happened because I gave no direction as to where that order should be filled...you can't anyways, and you don't know today where your order may end up. There should be one playing field only, with transparency and hopefully if the Maple Takeover happens, then it will all be integrated and everyone will have to play by the same rules etc.
By the way NineLives, the same people pushing for the one currency are also pushing for the one world government. I shudder at the whole prospect of this because this can lead to almost anything including population control which is one of their goals. To turn gold into the new world currency, then everyone will have to own it, something which may not be possible.
