my guess is similar to enmec's but I also see it as a "strategic" or "controlling" move.

If FNR closed up big on a big volume day that is very bullish, (although the volume does attract attention), the small gain will not cause momentum players to hang around tomorrow or the next day.

hope that makes sense, I do see it as a very bullish sign, but I am often wrong....
