RE: RE: RE: Mountaineer 78

RE: RE: RE: Mountaineer 78mountaineer78, aka "Michael",

Are you really as deficient in comprehension skills as you exhibit in your posts?  Can you not comprehend the fact that I am not trying to cast a negative light on this company - I am attempting to point out the negative light that can be cast on the company if known shills like sweatman and company [that means his multi aliases PLUS certain other individuals that have been known to act in tandem with him] are linked to a promotion of this company.

You continue to harp about me eating crow if GRR winds up with successful results in a NI43-101 Report. Why should I eat crow under that scenario? I'm not predicting failure in Nicaragua. Nor will I take credit, nor get any satisfaction if GRR efforts are unsuccessful.

My purpose is to use a GRR experience, as documented in their news release disclaiming the overly promotional Larry Myles Report, to make a point on the use of shills like sweatman and company. This element of market parasite for which the VSE was well known, did not disappear with the introduction of the Venture Exchange.  A group like this can target a company, with or without direct company approval, and they can achieve their agenda, whether or not a company is ultimately successful. Their modus operandi in a chat room like Stockhouse is to flood the forum with aliases that co-operate in stimulating "discussion" - sometimes even playing good cop/bad cop roles. Often they draw in serious investors that are prone to being overly optimistic or unrealistic, and they unwittingly are used by the shills to hype the stock. If you want to view a blatant example of this approach check the first few pages when this forum was kicked off - its a Who's Who of shill aliases. Whether they're working for a group that's fanning paper from a placement, or for a firm that's providing "investor relations" services - its a fairly simple concept. A select group, which includes the shills and/or their employers, is in on a "pre run-up" whack of shares or cheap options, that are passed off to unwary investors, usually at a sizeable short term profit. IF the company is successful, it might be a win/win situation, and the unwary investor might also profit on the enterprise. The shills don't mind this, they'll have a satisfied "mark" that they can hit for more on the next promotion. But in the majority of cases the run-up exceeds the value that can be justified fundamentally, and it becomes a win/lose scenario - the shills and their employers being on the win side [again], and the unwary average joe investor taking the beating.

The chat room plants are just part of the group. These same individuals, or other cohorts, will be involved in taking down a chunk of a placement, telephone promotion, deals with brokers, newsletter writers, etc. If you are too naive to believe that this takes place - don't play the Venture Exchange or the pennies on the TSX. I've seen it happen in another company, with most of the "usual suspects" that started up this forum. Naysayers, such as myself and others were greatly outnumbered by the shills and a group of excited, and for the most part, unwary supporters. The run-up was great - with the help of a hot commodities market - and all were very happy. Everyone commented on the ignorance of the naysayers. Then, with a high priced placement put to bed and over subscribed, the shills disappeared. The stock began a slide that took it down to 2% of its run-up high. Gradually, all the supporters had disappeared, and the forum now consists of the original naysayers, and an occasional old time supporter, still in denial. As these disillusioned former supporters departed, many made no parting comments. But some took shots at management, blaming them for their losses. And some, including a few that originally discredited the naysayers, manned up [as you like to say] and thanked the naysayers for the warning - and that they wished they had listened. Some did this on the forum, others by inbox.  Coincidentally, a group of these "investors" that took it on the chin were graduates of a U.S. University that's likely better known than West Virginia. Their graduate and post graduate achievements were no match for the smoothies that got their education on Howe Street.

Michael, your bluster, your group connection, your avatar and University credentials, and  your shareholdings do not impress me one iota. I've seen others, claiming very similar credentials, brought to their knees by the reality of a failed mining effort that had been promoted as a world class property.  You seem to recognize that such investments may not result in success. My concern is for the unwary guy that goes in over his head, and takes a beating that affects him and his family for the rest of their lives - he shouldn't have to play on a playing field that's not level.

Once again - I'm not trying to harm GRR or its shareholders. Nor am I saying GRR will not succeed. I'm saying - serious, honest investors should be aware of the agenda and methods of a group of parasites that has infected this and many other company forums. There will likely be a concerted hue and cry go up from a number of posters, questioning my mental stability, motives, etc.. The authors of these charges are either part of the group, or are too naive to be commenting. If you think I've hatched some wild, unbelievable conspiracy theory - do some research and check some of the BCSC cases over the years - and that's just the ones they've caught!

By the way Michael, my comment about your upside down avatar was not in reference to GRR - my comment was directed at "most of sweatman's promotional efforts".  Get a check on the paranoia, and try concentrating when you're reading.

As for getting my Stockhouse post pulled - its not as big an achievement as you're taking credit for. I know the reason Stockhouse pulled it - I notice they've had reason to pull quite a number of "sweaty posts" as well. I think my purpose was served during the time my post was public, by the responses and actions it triggered from those it offended.
