RE: Zone 147 & Pecking Order & Hathaway LOLTerry:
[S] Looking like as BRD transitions to steady state production the increasing POG will continue to deliver some flexibility to WD. As RA pointed out in the conference call, Timmins is a boom-town with serious competition for miners. I have floated the option of school stope. Like a farm team, teaching the mining skills to young and willing could be more cost effective that hiring someone with "pre-existing conditions". To not do so, we may see the jumbos in the stopes instead of selecting the optimum mining techniques.
Employers have to be creative. e.g. the term briefcase miners suggests that a good jackleg miner will command a high five to six figure salary. And that is before bonus and other perks & incentives. I was on the east coast recently, some of the miner I met commute to the big gold camps & FM.
BWDIK?
Cheers
